We are delighted to invite you to join us on 27 & 28 March 2021 for the sixth annual Giro della Donna (www.girodelladonna.com) . Visit Yarra Valley are a proud sponsor and we’re pleased to welcome all cyclists back to the region that boasts the closest Alpine climbs to Melbourne. (NB: this event has been rescheduled from November 2020 due to Covid-19)
As well as the road, gravel and village elements returning from 2018, we are excited to add a family ride, the Piccolo Giro, on the Rail Trail and the ‘Coppi’ Dinner, celebrating the greatest Campionissimo of them all, Fausto Coppi.
Things kick off Saturday with the event village at Warburton Golf Club opening from 9.30 am with local food, coffee and wines, a bike expo, kids entertainment and the big screen. The gravel giro and piccolo giro both start and finish at the Golf Club on Dammans Rd, while the evenings Coppi dinner.
Starting in the township of Warburton, Victoria and finishing at the top of Mt. Donna Buang, Sunday’s Giro della Donna features one of the most spectacular cycling routes in Australia.
Over 120km of closed and traffic-managed roads, you’ll climb more than 2,750 metres, including the gruelling (and stunning) 20km Reefton Spur ascent and a true mountaintop finish at Mt. Donna Buang. The addition of a 13km gravel section along the stunning Acheron Way makes this route a challenge for any cyclist, but one that can be enjoyed by all.
