Giverny Estate, a kiwi fruit winery at the top of Yarra Valley in Toolangi, just 15 minutes north of the popular township of Healesville, 10 minutes from Dixon creek.
The winery was established in the late 1980s, producing organic kiwi fruit wines and cider beside a lagoon reminiscent of a Monet painting. At its centre is the beautiful lily pond that gives the property its name: Giverny Estate, named after the ponds in impressionist artist Claude Monet’s gardens at Giverny in France. The pond is spring-fed and home to a colony of platypuses and mature Australian bass, as well as a host of waterbirds.
Being the only kiwi-fruit winery located in the Yarra Valley, the vineyard produces in excess of 7 tons of outstanding quality fruit each year and the results are a range of different varieties of fruit wines, including Kiwi fruit cider, kiwi fruit dry white and dessert wines, Kiwi fruit sparkling (method Champenoise) as well as liqueur and schnapps.
