Local artists are excitedly preparing their studios to welcome the public on May 4 & 5 for Nillumbik Artists Open Studios 2019 – an event that affords the public a rare glimpse of artists creating their masterpieces in their own studios.
The work of 32 artists will be on view from 10am-5pm each day in various studios and workspaces across the region.
This free event, supported by Nillumbik Shire Council, has been running for more than 30 years and offers visitors the opportunity to meet the makers, discover the source of their passion and buy works of art direct from the artist. Nillumbik’s was one of the original open studios models, which is now replicated across Victoria.
The locations of the open studios encourage visitors to journey through many charming towns and villages across Nillumbik Shire from Eltham through to Panton Hill and St Andrews. Art mediums on offer include metalwork, printmaking, ceramics, glass work, painting, sculpture, textiles - there’s something to appeal to everyone.
