Stocking regional produce, carefully curated homewares, local flowers, house baked sourdough, artisan cheeses, jams and pickles. The Providore is surrounded by vines and orchard and shares the property with restaurants, a boutique hotel and brewery.
The Providore was conceived to be a logical addition to the experience of visiting the precinct that is The Farmhouse, The Café and The Warehouse at Meletos. To be able to take away part of your experience of staying or dining on the property, whether it be our house chutney, a bunch of flowers from our creative team or a beautiful stone bowl from The Café.
Carefully curated with local produce, The Providore is a celebration of this creative region. There are so many passionate and hard working producers, farmers and doers in the Yarra Valley that we are so excited to work with. Complimenting the ethos of Seasoned - our in-house newspaper, The Providore really is an extension of the publication – know your product, know where it came from, who made it and how/why. A series of upcoming ‘Meet Your Maker’ events will be a fantastic way to fully appreciate the produce and get to know the talented people behind it.
Already looking like it has lived amongst the accompanying buildings for years, the build was conceived and managed in-house, with the styling and curation by parent-son team Steve, Vonnie and Ryan Frazer. “With the volume of people visiting the property each week, it just made sense to build The Providore and deepen the experience of the visit.” Steve says. A formative trip to Indonesia in early 2016 inspired Steve and Vonnie. There they discovered incredible warehouses of Javanese antiques, many of which shaped the design of The Providore and will be talking points for its visitors.
