Warrandyte is renowned for its gold mining origins and later for its famous painters and potters. Today the village is a popular tourist spot and abounds with galleries, craft shops, restaurants, coffee shops and historical places of interest.
Situated on the Yarra River and surrounded by the natural bushland of Warrandyte State Park, enjoy a peaceful stroll through the Warrandyte River Reserve, take the kids to the Federation Playground or get adventurous and try canoeing on the river. Then enjoy coffee and lunch in one of the many fine cafes and browse the unique collection of shops and galleries.
The Warrandyte Market is held on the first Saturday of each month (except January) adjacent the Yarra River at Stiggants Reserve in Yarra St (the main thoroughfare).
