Rayner’s Orchard is a popular destination during Lunar New Year as there is an abundance of ripe stone fruits for picking and eating, many of which symbolise positive virtues for the year ahead. Want immortality? Eat a peach!

According to Chinese symbolism, peach fruit is a sign of immortality and staying young. Peach blossoms are considered lucky, the peach tree is a symbol of longevity and peach petals symbolise love and happiness.

Because of their gorgeous colour, apricots are often used to symbolise wealth and gold.

Plums are also symbolic of good luck, wealth, fortune, gold, prosperity and fertility. At Chinese New Year they are used in cooking, and gifted among families.

A visit to Rayner’s Orchard this Lunar New Year will not only have your taste buds singing, it will also provide luck and prosperity for the year ahead! Take a Fruit Adventure tour on their tractor and celebrate!
