Snowy Christmas scenes are hardwired in our DNA, even though the Australian Christmas is more likely to be a sand-between-the-toes, heatwave-on-the-beach type experience.

So the opportunity to have a white Christmas in July is a chance to step into a Christmas card setting and enjoy the foods of the season, tucked up and cosy by a real fireplace. Hang your stockings and crack the champers (or order that special bottle of red you’ve been eyeing off) – getting the family together is always worth it, and if you’re lucky there might even be real snow!

Plus you don’t have to travel to Europe to do it – it’s all just one hour from Melbourne!

White Christmas at Oscars on the Yarra

Celebrate Christmas every day in July! The fires will be roaring, there will be mulled wine and carols, tinsel and bonbons, fairy lights and snow, along with a traditional Christmas roast and all the trimmings. Each week will feature a different roast meat, seasoned roasted vegetables, and all the festive trimmings, and vegetarians will not be forgotten with a delicious torte also available.

And for dinner with a difference...

The De Bortoli pig party - Saturday 13 July

This annual event celebrates all things piggy. Share nibbles and drinks on arrival before moving into the restaurant for a long table dining experience for shared platters of Antipasto and salumi, with platters of roasted pork and accompaniments to follow.
