With wedding costs on the rise, more and more bargain-hunting brides are seeking pre-loved items for their big event.
No-one wants the stress and unnecessary costs associated with a wedding. In Australia, the average wedding costs somewhere between $35,000 - $65,000. That’s a lot of money to spend on one day!
On Sunday 2 December, Yarra Valley Estate will be hosting their inaugural ECO Bride Market Day to cater for brides wanting to celebrate their marriage without the stress of huge event costs, all while trying to minimise the impact on the environment.
With the popularity of a 'minimal waste' wedding and the many aspects on social media with DIY brides and 'buy, swap and sell sites, together with their sustainability ethos, Yarra Valley Estate thought it was a great opportunity to bring a day like this together.
Helping ex-brides talk about their 'pre-loved' items to upcoming brides & grooms gives them a chance to see it, rather than going online and clicking 'buy now'.
"It gives brides the opportunity to cut costs on certain aspects of their day by buying second-hand goods that are still really good quality," said Katrina, General Manager of Yarra Valley Estate.
There will be pre-loved wedding dresses, a couple of bridesmaid gowns and even page boy suits available.
The Market Day will also have some creativity and fun involved, with different types of workshops available, including the creation of stunningly beautiful flower crowns, using items from Yarra Valley Estate's vast natural gardens. There will also be pampering workshops showcasing how to make 'tub teas' and body scrubs with your 'bride tribe'.
Why not make a day of it and come out to the Yarra Valley and enjoy the gardens, live music and of course there will be coffee, food and wine too!
