"A sense of generosity and hospitality is part of the Italian way and an integral part of the Yarra Valley. Italian heritage is in our produce, our wines and in our major tourism offerings.
We will have one of Australia’s most highly regarded pasta makers Joel Valvasori-Pereza make a special guest appearance at Oakridge for our ‘Lulu La Delizia’ dinner, and handmade pasta will be the hero of the evening. Joel believes that pasta is one of the most beautiful crafts in the world, so this exclusive dinner will be an unforgettable opportunity for people to experience his mastery right here in the Yarra Valley.
Since opening in Perth in 2016, Joel’s restaurant Lulu La Delizia (which means ‘to the delight’) has been awarded ‘one hat’ in the National Good Food Guide, ‘one star’ in the Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide, ranked #63 in the AFR Top 100, as well as making The Hot 50 and being labelled Australia’s best pasta restaurant by John Lethlean in The Australian.
At our Ciao Yarra Valley Ciao dinner, we will be offering a shared dining experience of a four-course Italian feast at one long table ‘la familia’ style. It will be a hearty, northern-Italian style menu that features handmade pasta that promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The evening begins with aperitivo, Four Pillar’s Negronis and bubbles on the balcony overlooking the vines. Each course will be paired with Oakridge’s award-winning wines.
The opportunity to have Joel, our own Matt Stone and Jo Barrett collaborate for our ‘Lulu La Delizia’ dinner is truly special. Joel grew up in the Yarra Valley and it’s long been an ambition for Matt and Joel to create a dining experience together that is unforgettable.
There’s a philosophy of giving in all they do – those who join us in this special event will be in pasta paradise.”
