All parents know it can cost a fortune taking the kids out for the day – but not on Sunday 18 March – because the Yarra Valley Regional Food Group are putting on a FREE Family Fun Day at their Yering Station Farmer’s Market, to celebrate 20 amazing years.

So, what’s free?

Jumping Castle, Yarra Valley Farmers Market

All the kids entertainment.  That’s right, all of it, and with no parking or entry free, there are no catches – it really is an affordable fun day out with the family.  There’ll be heaps of free entertainment for the whole family to enjoy – including:

  • Cooking demonstrations
  • Watch chocolate being made
  • Have your face painted
  • Get up close and personal with a snake at the mobile reptile zoo
  • See who can jump the highest on the jumping castle
  • There’ll even be a balloon magician making clever balloon art

Chill out some free live music

What a great thought that you can watch the kids being entertained as you kick back and relax with a freshly made coffee to the sounds of The Black Kites an awesome local band – you may have heard them before, they are a regular fixture at the Farmer’s Market which is held on the 3rd Sunday of the month at Yering Station.

What time should I get there?

Food, Yarra Valley Farmers Market

Turn up anytime between 9am to 2pm and whatever you do, don’t eat before you come, because it’s a farmer’s market so there will be plenty of tantalising samples of things being offered, plus all the amazing food stalls tempting you with breakfast, brunch and lunch options.

Where is it again?

If you haven’t been before, Yering Station is a beautiful setting – on the Melba Highway just before you get to Yarra Glen.  The market itself is held in the historic barn with fabulous exposed beams, and there are vast lawns and mop top trees to sit out under and relax, plus the variety of stalls and high quality produce on offer is sensational – all from local growers and producers – you’ll find great gifts and delicious treats to enjoy on the way home and remind you of the Yarra Valley.

So come and help the Yarra Valley Regional Food Group members mark their impressive 20 year achievement and have a great free family fun day out.
