Scenic courses for garden and nature lovers
The gardens at the Eastwood Golf Course are a treat for flora and fauna lovers. Nestled at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges National Park, this claybelt course offers panoramic views and a round that will cater for the golfer of any level – and the setting is a postcard.
There’s no end to the pleasurable sight of a long lush fairway when you visit Yering Meadows Golf Club, and the views from the club house are a great backdrop for friends and family to wile away a few hours while enjoying a hearty meal and a fine local wine. Gardiner’s Run Golf Course in Lilydale also offers a stunning countryside location and is blessed with an urban fringe location so you’ll be there in no time if travelling from Melbourne.
Easy courses for casual encounters
Beginner golfers, or those just looking for a relaxed round can choose to play the 9-hole par 3 at The Eastern Golf Club* or the meandering riverside course located at Marysville Community Golf and Bowls Club. Check out the Warburton Golf Club for their casual program, which includes Ladies Day on Thursdays, twilight competitions and the opportunity to hire subsidised golf carts (easy on the legs!) in your green fee package at selected times during the week.
Golf, dinner, bed and breakfast
Imagine waking up in the morning and walking straight onto the first tee for a day of golfing indulgence – made even more special when you add a few friends. Meal, stay and play packages are a terrific way to share quality time with your friends, and many of our courses are also the location for amazing dining experiences. The Eastern Golf Club is also the home of the gorgeous self-contained Yering Gorge Cottages, set among 120 acres of private nature reserve. You will also find it hard to go past the indulgent resort-style experience that is the RACV Healesville Country Club Golf Course*. Play a round or two – when you stay overnight you could even play two days in a row! Indulge in an amazing meal in the restaurant and enjoy the chilled out, luxury environment of the clubhouse and accommodation.
Play courses that tick your bucket list
There are eight amazing golf courses in the Yarra Valley and two of them are Top 100 courses! RACV Healesville Country Club and The Eastern Golf Club both feature in the Australian Golf Magazine Guide for the best courses in Australia, and Yarrambat Golf Course is highly regarded for its Tony Cashmore designed course to take your golf experience to the next level. Make a little bit of golfing history for yourself and a few brownie points with your buddies because you’re the one who organised such a great golf getaway for them. What a great idea for an annual catch up!
