Each July the Yarra Valley warms up its Cellar Doors and reminds wine lovers and their friends to visit us for Gumboot Season.

Head to the Yarra Valley, breathe in the fresh air, taste some delicious wines, indulge in some heart warming food, take in the stunning views and warm up by our open fires. Gumboot Season is all about special events and dining experiences that are being hosted at all of our favourite vineyards. Don’t forget to wear your gumboots for special cellar door discounts and exclusive wintery offers.

The Yarra Valley is postcard perfect in winter and just a one-hour drive from Melbourne. The Valley encompasses mountain ranges and low plains all surrounding the meandering Yarra River. Our farms host row after row of vines dotted with livestock alongside native bushland and wildlife. Spend the day or the weekend, get cosy and wind down with a glass or two of local wine – it’s a pleasure to be exploring your own backyard.

There’s heaps of Gumboot Season fun to be had as you explore the wineries along the Maroondah Highway.  From generous discounts at Cellar Doors, special lunches and dinners to  Gumboot tossing competitions there will be plenty to keep you entertained during July and August.

As well as exploring the Melba Highway wineries in and around  Yarra Glen and Dixons Creek during Gumboot Season, don’t forget to zip over to Arthurs Creek from Yarra Glen for a visit to Shaws Road Winery.

Any visit to the Yarra Valley should always include a drive along the Warburton Highway.  After you have called into Paynes Rise at Seville, turn left onto Sunnyside Road at Seville East to make your way across to Gruyere and Squitchy Lane on Medhurst Road.
