VISIT NILLUMBIK
Home to artists, wineries, boutique eateries & more nestled in scenic Australian bushland!

Nillumbik’s artisan hills feature attractions including the iconic Montsalvat, the oldest artists' colony in Australia. Famous artists have painted the sweeping landscapes in Eltham and surrounds over many years and exhibitions are regularly held in venues throughout the region. Artists can be visited during Open Studios, a twice yearly event where you can see an artist at work and purchase unique pieces.

Our wineries are nestled among the green, rolling hills or tucked away in traditional bushland. The journey is just as beautiful as the destination.  Meander through the region and experience our quintessentially Australian villages. Stop in for a bite to eat at a cafe or wander the boutiques and provedores for a touch of retail therapy.

Weekends are brimming with activities and plenty of local markets including the famous St Andrews Country Market every Saturday. Diamond Creek, Eltham and Hurstbridge are also popular destinations.

Nillumbik is an easily accessible escape to the country, just 45 minutes’ drive out of Melbourne. Information on how to get to the villages includes travel times and public transport options.
