In 1838, the Scottish-born Ryrie brothers settled in the Yarra Valley. They named their property Yering Station, incorporating the area’s aboriginal name, and planted Victoria’s first vineyard on the site. Wines from Yering Station reached early heights, winning a Grand Prix at the 1889 Universal Exhibition in Paris, the only prize awarded to a winery in the southern hemisphere. After changing hands several times throughout the twentieth century, Yering Station remains a family-owned winery committed to producing world class quality wines.
Today Yering Station produces a range of wines truly expressive of the Yarra Valley’s terroir including classics Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz Viognier, as well as sparkling wine released under the Yarrabank label. Recognised for its commitment to excellence, Yering Station was awarded the ‘International Wine Maker of the Year’ at the prestigious International Wine and Spirit Competition in London and inducted into both the Victorian and Australian Tourism Awards ‘Hall of Fame’.
Located in the heart of the Yarra Valley an hour’s drive from Melbourne, Yering Station offers an unforgettable wine and food experience. Award-winning wines are complemented by breathtaking views, superb architecture and established gardens to make this a Yarra Valley destination not to be missed.
